Welcome, latchkey ladies. Everyone knows that the 80s were the best time to grow up. It was back in the olden days but recent enough that kids were considered "kids" and weren't being forced to work as chimney sweeps. Still, kids were given much more freedom to roam around on their bikes — at least until dinner time or until the sun set and the streetlamps came on. The 80s also had the best toys. Kids didn't have access to never ending instant gratification, so they stayed high off the Christmas spirit for weeks after opening their gifts. From Cabbage Patch kids that were all the rage to early video games like Tetris for the NES, there was an exciting game or toy for every kid.
